Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.

We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.

We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.

As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by bringing together up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.

About the Role

Fieldguide is entering a rapid stage of growth where hiring excellence is a critical lever for company success. As Director, Talent Acquisition, you will own and scale a global recruiting function that supports rapid, high-quality growth across the company.

This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will partner closely with executive leadership to translate business goals into workforce plans, design scalable hiring systems and employer brand from the ground up, define and implement the agentic strategy, and develop a team capable of hiring exceptional talent in competitive markets. You will shape how we hire, who we hire, and how our culture shows up throughout the candidate experience.

This is a defining leadership role for someone who enjoys building durable systems for high volume hiring, influencing senior stakeholders, and developing strong recruiting teams while maintaining a high bar for execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing, globally distributed talent acquisition team, including developing strong people managers

  • Evolve the metrics and reporting function, creating live dashboards for understanding team performance and identifying bottlenecks in the process. Use data to inform process and decision making.

  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and data-driven continuous improvement across the recruiting function, balancing speed and quality as the company scales

  • Build and scale a compelling employer brand, clearly articulating Fieldguide’s mission, culture, and value proposition to attract top talent in competitive markets

  • Partner with founders, executives, and functional leaders to forecast hiring needs and align recruiting strategy with business priorities

  • Translate short- and long-term company goals into clear, actionable hiring plans across teams and regions

  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and executives, guiding hiring decisions and tradeoffs with sound judgment and data

  • Collaborate closely with People Operations and Finance on headcount planning, budgeting, and compliance

  • Design and operate global hiring models that work across geographies, time zones, and labor markets

  • Ensure a consistent, inclusive, and high-quality candidate experience worldwide

  • Define and track meaningful recruiting metrics to assess performance, surface bottlenecks, and inform decisions

  • Continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and systems to support growth and efficiency, particularly with AI

  • Stay current on market trends, particularly in technical, AI, and hard-to-hire talent areas

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of talent acquisition experience, including 5+ years leading teams at high-growth AI or SaaS startups

  • Experience scaling organizations from approximately 150 to 500+ employees

  • Proven ability to influence founders, executives, and senior leaders on hiring strategy and execution

  • Demonstrated success designing and executing end-to-end global recruiting strategies

  • Experience building, developing, and retaining high-performing talent acquisition teams

  • Strong background in building scalable recruiting processes and systems, including AI and SaaS tooling, vendors, and budgets

  • Experience hiring in highly competitive geographic markets (e.g. San Francisco, New York)

  • Experience building employer branding or talent marketing initiatives

  • Experience supporting international expansion and new market entry

In this role, you will hit the ground running demonstrating immediate impact to Fieldguide.

By 90 days, the Director, Talent Acquisition is:
